Implantium Network Dentist FAQs
So does this mean that I have to charge less for all my implants from now on?
No, that is the beauty of this system. As we send the patients to you (and your identity is kept anonymous until then) you do not have to show publicly that you offer this service.
Thus you can continue as normal and just take on Network patients as it suits you. You are free to stop any time you wish. All we require is that you charge the Network fees for patients sent from the Network. What do you have to lose?
Isn’t the fee too low?
Ultimately this is your decision. We think that this fee is perfectly satisfactory to be able to achieve a good result. The key lies in being efficient and controlling costs. By doing more implants there will be efficiency gains. We can help you become more efficient, still do a good job and you in turn can offer patients more affordable treatment.
How do I join?
You have to comply with a certain set of criteria
1 Provide details of current registration with the GDC
2 Provide evidence of adequate professional indemnity
3 Prove that you have done a suitable amount of training in implant dentistry
4 Read, accept and sign our terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them.
What are the terms and conditions?
See T&Cs.
What is a “suitable amount of implant training”?
In the light of our extensive experience of training implant dentists we will review each case on its merits. There is no restriction on which system you have previously been trained in. We recognise most implant training courses but if we are not familiar with the content we may contact the course provider. We expect an adequate level of theory, (minimum 30 hours plus verifiable CPD) with some evidence of having placed implants successfully previously. It is our objective to have high standards within the Network and thus it is in everyone’s interest to ensure training is adequate. Our decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
How many patients will you send?
This will depend on the location and other surrounding Network dentists. If you would like to know current patient numbers for your area please e-mail .
Where are you getting your patients from?
A national marketing and PR campaign.
Will you guarantee the number of patients you will send me?
We are not in a position to be able to do this. The number of dentists in the Network will be limited so it is advantageous to become part of the Network as soon as possible. However there will be sufficient dentists to ensure patients can be seen quickly.
How quickly will the patients be sent to me?
We are registering interest with dentists in advance of launching the PR and marketing campaign to patients. There will be an initial delay to allow for registration processing. As soon as a dentist has been registered then patients can be introduced.
Can I have exclusivity to patients within a certain region?
No, we believe the patients should have a choice and that the feedback mechanism will work better if they have a choice. However there will be a limit on the number of dentists in the system to promote a healthy patient flow.
What happens if the patient does not go ahead with treatment?
We already see differences in rates of acceptance of treatment. Ultimately however you will have charged for a consultation.
How do I know if the patient is suitable for implants / what treatment the patient requires?
We are unable to screen the patients for legal reasons so are unable to give any advance information. All patients must attend an initial consultation with you to allow you to provide an appropriate treatment plan. However we have found many of the patients do require extensive treatment.
Can I refer on?
If the case is beyond your experience then the patient can be referred back to the Network and we will seek an alternative dentist. We will require copies of radiographs etc to facilitate the referral. However, given the extra inconvenience to the patients we expect Network dentists to have a sufficient level of experience for this not to happen often.
Can I still use my own lab?
No problem. We do however have a network of labs who will offer a fixed lab cost of £280 for a single bonded crown and abutment. for more details.
